Wall Of Doom
“Call off your warriors, Princess Maura,” requested Dorak politely, “I have taken you prisoner. It is considered very bad form to continue fighting after one’s leader has, shall we say, fallen.”
“You can’t be serious,” sputtered Mikkotto. “Kill her now and all resistance will fall in Hasan Daeg. Keep her and they will fight to the death to get her back.”
“I don’t believe you are on my staff of advisors, Baroness,” Dorak warned coldly.
“Your father would have listened to me!”
“My father is dead and you were nothing but my father’s passing fancy.”
Mikkotto’s face grew red with fury. “Your father swore an oath to give me Hasan Daeg and she stands in the way!” The Baroness, with lightening speed, withdrew a dagger from her sleeve and pushed past Dorak toward the Princess. A black and white blur flew past her in front of Maura.
Suddenly Chaun Maaun stood facing the Baroness.
Mikkotto gasped and stepped back. Even Dorak seemed unable to move, so frightening was the sight of Chaun Maaun towering over them.
“Here’s something to remember me by, Baroness,” Chaun Maaun said contemptuously. He reached out a taloned hand and scratched her left cheek. “Every time you look in the mirror.”
Mikkotto screamed and dropping the dagger, put her hands up to her face. Her hands were bloody.
Chaun Maaun smiled and then stretching out his mighty wings, he took to the sky with Maura hanging on to his back.
Dorak watched them fly away until they were out of sight.
